The 14,600 m² Pharmaceutical Development Center in Bad Homburg houses two companies: MEDA Pharma and Almirall Sofotec. MEDA is one of the leading specialty pharmaceutical firms in Europe, focusing on marketing and near-to-market product development, while Almirall Sofotec carries out development work in the field of inhalation technology.

In addition to providing infrastructural services for MEDA and Almirall, HOCHTIEF Facility Management is also responsible for the technical operation of the laboratories and the clean rooms. The company's on-the-spot team has implemented an operator concept geared to the specific needs of a pharmaceutical location. As well as meeting all documentation and verification requirements in connection with the cleaning services, it also carries out and documents the technical maintenance work at and in the clean rooms in line with GMP stipulations. Integrating facility management into the process sequences has enabled plant availability to be stepped up while at the same time ensuring transparency of costs.

Together with the clients, HOCHTIEF Facility Management has prepared Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the laboratories and the clean room. These are work instructions for day-to-day activities in accordance with all GMP rules.
